Cookslop is an AI cooking assistant operated by Mark Ledwich. This policy explains how information is used at cookslop.com. Contact mark@ledwich.com.au with privacy questions or requests.
Information you provide
When you sign in with Google, Cookslop receives your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile picture. These identify your account and let you access your saved work. Cookslop requests only basic sign-in information, not access to Gmail, Drive, contacts or your Google password.
Your cooking data
Cookslop stores your chats, recipes, cooking progress, preferences, shopping selections and other information you choose to enter so its features work and your work can be restored. Messages and preferences can include dietary or health information if you choose to provide it. Avoid entering information that is not needed for cooking. Guest work and preferences may also be stored in your browser.
Email codes and passkeys
You can also sign in with an emailed code or a passkey. Resend processes your email address and sign-in messages to deliver codes. Passkey registration stores a public credential and related device information; the private key stays with your device or passkey provider. Session and security records support sign-in, account recovery and connected assistants.
AI, voice and service providers
Relevant messages, recipes and cooking context are sent to AI providers to answer questions, generate recipes and create illustrations. Providers used by the app include OpenAI and TypeSafe. Voice features send audio or text to ElevenLabs for transcription or speech. Cloudflare provides hosting, network services and image storage; Convex stores application data. These services process information to provide the features you use and may process it outside your country.
Analytics and technical information
Cookslop uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in and application state. When analytics is enabled, PostHog receives usage events, page visits, device information and session replays, linked to your account identifier, name and email when signed in. Replay input fields are masked, but other visible page content may be recorded. Technical logs and diagnostics help investigate errors and operate the service. Hosting services also process network information such as IP addresses; approximate country information helps select the shopping region.
Sharing and optional features
Recipes you choose to share can be opened by anyone with the sharing link. Generated food illustrations are served from a public image CDN. Connecting an external assistant lets that service access the Cookslop tools and account data you authorise. Enabling timer notifications stores a browser push subscription so notifications can be delivered. You can turn notifications off in your browser.
Storage and your choices
Saved account data remains available until it is deleted; Cookslop does not currently apply a single automatic deletion period to all account data, logs and backups. You can remove content using available app controls and contact mark@ledwich.com.au to request access, correction or deletion of your account data. Clearing browser storage removes local guest data and signs you out. You can also revoke Google sign-in access in your Google Account settings; this does not by itself delete saved Cookslop data.
